October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month! Cybersecurity Awareness Month is an effort to encourage everyone to protect themselves, their networks, and our nation’s critical cyber infrastructure. We all have a shared responsibility to learn more and teach others about how to stay safer and more secure online.
We’re doing out part to spread the word about how businesses can protect their brands in an Internet-driven society. Email systems, payment systems, supply chains, product promotion and critical data storage are all businesses functions that rely on the Internet. Your core business functions could be at risk of a distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack.
Businesses protect their physical presence and similar cybersecurity protections must also be established. DDoS mitigation services can defend against numerous types of attacks, regardless of their size, complexity or origin.
For more resources on DDoS mitigation, feel free to poke around our Security Operations Center website.
In the spirit of cyber education, we’ll be testing your knowledge all month on Twitter and giving away prizes! Here’s how it works:
- Be sure you’re following @UltraDNS on Twitter.
- Every Wednesday in the month of October (10/10,10/17, 10/24 and 10/31) we’ll tweet a trivia question with the hashtag #CyberTrivia at 5:00 p.m. EDT / 2:00 p.m. PDT.
- The first person to reply with the correct answer wins a $25.00 gift card to Amazon! (We’ll connect with winners individually to send gift cards via email.)
Catch up on your cyber facts and spread the word about cybersecurity this month! Feel free to share your cybersecurity tips and success stories as well. We’d love to hear from you!
