Candy QR Code: Tasty Tasty Halloween Marketing

Over the past several months we have found several great examples of creative and innovative ways to make and use QR Codes. These have ranged from using QR Codes to bring movie posters to life to building a QR Code key fob to help if you ever lose your keys.

QR Codes are becoming more prevalent in marketing to help bridge the online and offline world. Flipping through your favorite magazine will reveal at minimum a handful of QR Codes.

After coming across an online article about a QR Code being built out of sandwich cookies, we have become inspired.

As Halloween is quickly approaching, we knew we had to use some sort of candy to build our QR code. With some quick math and graphing, we went out and bought the necessary supplies, eight bags of bite size milk chocolate bars and eight bags of bite size white chocolate bars. Of course we did factor in the need for quality testing of the chocolate and the extra bars that “disappear.”

Armed with our QR code graph, chocolate, yardstick and masking tape, we went to work.

After 320 squares of milk chocolate and 305 squares of white chocolate, our masterpiece was finished.
