Two Neustar Employees Awarded the Urban Empowerment Award by Year Up

The Urban Empowerment Award recognizes individuals who have made an incredible impact on their community by empowering urban young adults to reach their potential. Through Jim and Brad’s leadership, Neustar has been involved with the Year Up Program since January 2011.

Jim Weber, Director of Network and Data Center Operations at Neustar,  believes the program helps close the opportunity divide by making it possible for young adults to develop workforce skills. “The Year Up values and desire to set high expectations match my philosophy, so it was easy for me to be excited about the program. “

Brad Missal, Director of Network Operations Center, Network Management Systems and Telecom/AV Services at Neustar worked with Jim to help introduce and incorporate the program into the company’s community initiatives.

“I think the year up program is important to our communities, business and students because of the way connections are created. Year Up builds the connections between those that need skilled workers and the capable workforce that may not otherwise have a connection to the IT industry. Neustar has benefited for this exact reason. Year Up provides me with a source of trained and professional candidates that are a great match to our workplace culture.”

Both agree, the award, while totally unexpected, is a huge honor and a tremendous responsibility to be recognized. “Now I feel the obligation as a recipient of this award to do even more and become an even greater champion for this program,” Missal said.

“I am very proud to work for an organization that not only supports corporate social responsibility, but encourages its employees to get involved the way Neustar does.  It makes giving back to the community so much easier,” Weber said.

Congratulations to you both, what an honor!
